Abstract
Sales managers are increasingly involved in recruiting and selection decisions, yet sales courses do not typically provide training in how sales managers evaluate entry-level sales applicants. We describe an experiential selection exercise that provides students (and recruiters) with realistic and humbling insights concerning the selection decision and evaluation process. We also note the relative lack of research concerning the processes by which recruiters evaluate sales applicants.
