Findings on marketing professors' retirement plans beyond year 2000 indicate that many intend to retire soon. Retirement issues and continuing weakness in the academic job market may present serious obstacles to meeting longer-term demand for terminally qualified marketing faculty members. Recommendations are presented based on two scenarios of supply/demand disequilibria for marketing professors.
