Redirecting Faculty Research and Publication Efforts through the Use of a Faculty Development Program: A Case Study of "Publish and Prosper" Using an Incentive System
To redirect faculty research and publication efforts from proceedings to refereed journals, an innovative Faculty Development Program was established at an AA.C.S.B.-accredited school. The program used an incentive system in which faculty members earned spendable dollar credits for each article published. The program (including advantages and disadvantages), faculty reaction to it, and speculative questions about it are discussed in this article.
