Abstract
Two Action Groups, each consisting of a chair person and four or five delegates, were established in the first plenary session of the Congress to promote the development of research projects on specific topics on a multidisciplinary, multicentre basis. The areas of research selected for the Action Groups were: Rehabilitation research in the elderly and Social and vocational integration of young disabled adult. In the closing session of the Congress the chairpersons of the Action Groups made reports on their progress. In addition, an initiative to form a database of research in rehabilitation was reported. Abstracts of these reports are given below.
