Abstract
Sociological research in biography examines how, under continually changing social conditions, subjectivity is constituted in intersubjective processes. The reciprocity of the individual and society is not only stated as a matter of fact but is also made a guideline in sociological research. At all levels of this research area, society is the subject of discussion, ranging from a general view on social modernisation processes to issues like properties of specific milieus and family structures, and up to the socialised subject.
