Abstract
This article explores the themes of sociological inquiry as reflected in the presentations at the 20th World Congress of Sociology held in Melbourne in 2023. By analyzing the abstracts published by the International Sociological Association, the article aims to gather information about the presenters, including their affiliated countries, the types of institutions they represent (such as universities, research centers, or other organizations), and the authors associated with each paper. The article evaluates the subjects addressed, classifies the papers into empirical or theoretical categories, and examines the research methodologies utilized. The primary goal of this article is to identify emerging patterns in sociology and sociological research on a global scale in recent years, highlighting how various regions, institutions, and scholars are influencing the discipline. This research aspires to enhance our understanding of the global trajectory of sociological exploration and its shifting priorities. All abstracts published in International Sociological Association were utilized to extract data based on the chosen variables using the statistical software SPSS. The findings indicate the preference of scholars worldwide in choosing specific topics, the contexts of study and methodology.
