Abstract
In recent years numerous studies have been made in order to identify the cause of erectile impotence. By means of a new instrumental technique, consisting of a study of the blood flow through the corpora cavernosa, necessary to produce penile erection, it is possible to detect a cause of erectile impotence related to enhanced venous outflow from the corpora due to valvular incompetence. To treat this condition it has been suggested6 that a microsurgical operation of arterialization of deep dorsal penile vein be carried out. The diagnostic procedures are described and their experience of this surgical procedure is reported.
