Describes the Information and
Documentation Training Programme of the
German Foundation for International
Development, which is focused mainly on
countries in Eastern and Southern Africa.
The programme includes national seminars
for the establishment of information and
documentation services, national and
regional training courses for information and
documentation personnel, continuing
professional education courses, the
development of teaching and learning
materials, scholarships and other activities.
Great emphasis is placed on working in
partnership with local institutions in the
region and in using local information
professionals as resource persons. An
outline of the programme for 1990-1991 and
a selected list of DSE publications are
included.
