Abstract
The recognition of the need to establish cooperative links to share resources both at national and regional levels led to Sri Lanka participating in the Regional Network of Health Literature, Library and Information Services (HELLIS). At the national level a network of participating libraries was organized with the University of Colombo Medical Library as the focal point. Describes the establishment of HELLIS (Sri Lanka) and provides background data on the network of participating libraries, their scope, functions and resources. Evaluates the current status of services provided by the network and emphasizes the need to develop basic bibliographic tools.
