The Finnish Literature Archives

Abstract

Discusses the history and development of the Literature Archives of the Finnish Literature Society. One of the features of the work of the Archives is its policy of close contact with writers through the interview scheme and mounting exhibitions of their work. Cataloguing of material requires research, since, unlike librarians, archives personnel are not supplied with catalogue information in the work itself. The Archives also publishes its own material, such as writers' letters and mounts exhibitions.
