Abstract
As the Information Technology industry evolves, e-recruitment emerges as a pivotal tool for sourcing talent. However, challenges like technological constraints and regulatory compliance hinder its effectiveness. This cross-sectional study delves into the discerned effectiveness of e-recruitment methods and the associated barriers encountered by Information Technology companies in the adoption of these practices. A robust dataset comprising responses from 537 participants actively involved in recruitment activities across various sectors of the Information Technology industry was collected through a structured questionnaire. The analysis employed descriptive statistics to summarize sample demographics, inferential statistics including correlation and regression analyses to test hypotheses, and Harman's single-factor test to determine common method variance. The study identified several key findings aligned with its research objectives. Firstly, it confirmed a constructive association between the discerned effectiveness of e-recruitment methods and their adoption by Information Technology companies. However, it also revealed that technological constraints negatively impact the perceived effectiveness of e-recruitment, highlighting a critical barrier in the adoption process. Additionally, the study uncovered a significant association between the availability of skilled Information Technology professionals and the effectiveness of e-recruitment methods utilized by Information Technology firms. Moreover, it found that the integration of e-recruitment platforms with existing human resources systems positively influences their perceived effectiveness in the Information Technology sector, while regulatory compliance requirements pose significant barriers to their effective implementation. Furthermore, the study revealed that the user experience design in e-recruitment platforms affects their perceived effectiveness among Information Technology job seekers and human resources professionals. This study contributes novel insights by providing empirical evidence on the efficacy of e-recruitment methods in Information Technology organizations and the barriers hindering their adoption. Its findings offer insights for Information Technology companies and human resources professionals to enhance their recruitment strategies and address potential challenges, thereby unlocking the potential of e-recruitment in the Information Technology field.
