Why are librarians so ignorant of the needs of researchers? Why do they ignore missing pages in books and missing issues in digital journal backfiles? Why are valuable documents not preserved in archives and libraries? Perhaps because librarians do so little research themselves? How can a stronger research culture, and more empathy for researchers in other disciplines be developed?
