Abstract
Paper presented at the 26th annual meeting of the Information Management Working Group of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI), 12–15 September 2001, Bordeaux, France, on the subject of ‘Value and quality of development information’. Inter Dev Natural Resources Management (Inter Dev NRM) aims to offer solutions to overcome this lack of interaction between ‘science based’ knowledge and ‘operational’ knowledge based on local wisdom and practical experience. Inter Dev is a mutual information service based on new information technologies. Its goal is offering development practitioners validated references on experiences, techniques and methods. A network of practitioners produces and makes available operational information based on their practices in different thematic fields. The information is organized in a database that can be accessed through the Internet and will also constitute a platform for exchange between scientific research and field work level.
