Reviews the trend of records management literature in Africa, and concludes that paper-based records are given prominence over electronic ones, although electronic storage, retrieval and dissemination of information is becoming the norm in most information systems in Africa and worldwide. Concludes with a call for effective participation of Africa’s information professionals if they have to cope with this evolutionary shift and avoid future preservation risks associated with these records.
