Abstract
Paper presented at the 9th General Conference of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI) Paris, France, 22–25 September 1999, in a session of the EADI Information Management Working Group. Describes some of the activities of the World Agricultural Information Centre (WAICENT) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), including the Data Dissemination Agreement/Information Finder, the Document Repository, the production of CDROMs and the Virtual Extension Research and Communication Network (VERCON). Lists a number of publications which address the application of new information and communication technologies to problems of food security.
