Abstract
In this issue we look at the rapid rise to fame of Verdict, already well established as a specialist producer of reports on the UK retail sector, despite only having been in operation for four and a half years. An outstanding feature of the company's success story is its apparent acceptance as an influential force in the marketplace, by the powerful forces in the City. When Verdict speaks, "people who matter" listen. How have they achieved this enviable position, one which most longer-established market report publishers would love to emulate? I spoke to their marketing manager, Deborah Grant, in order to obtain an insight into the company's history and development.
