Architecture implies regularity for the designer and rule-lessness for the user. This state of things suggests the necessity of a new look into “erraticity”, “irregularity” and “randomness” as elements of the design process.
A short examination of these terms makes a revision of the concepts of “order” and “disorder” unavoidable. Such a revision might help in the emergence of new kinds of structures, new concepts of architectural space, and, ultimately, a new approach to architecture.
