Abstract
The CUBIC Space Frame is a modular three dimensional structure without diagonal bracing, which is capable of spanning large distances and carrying significant loads. The absence of bracing members also means that building services can be more easily accommodated within the structural depth. The paper includes a review of the origins of the system, followed by a brief look at some of the research and development issues that have had to be considered. Also included are photographs and descriptions of some past applications.
