The paper presents the details of the TORUS GESTO system of space structures developed in the Institute of Welding and Welded Constructions at the Department for Metal Structures at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Skopje, Yugoslavia.
It contains a brief description of a recent application of a new system of construction used for a large storage hall and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the system. After the details of the development of the TORUS GESTO jointing system, the article deals briefly with the production technology, erection procedures and full-size tests of space structures constructed in this system.
