Abstract
The main features of the tubular steel dome of 67m diameter covering the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium at Cuttack, India, are presented. This dome is made up of 8 arch trusses of depth 1.2 m connecting at the crown of the dome. Another 8 tubular battens are provided for reducing the span of the purlins. These battens are connected to the top ring beam. A monitor of 18 m diameter is provided at the top for natural lighting. The dome is covered with aluminium sheets. At the time of completion, this was the largest diameter dome in India.
