The buckling behaviour of braced barrel vaults is examined through experiments. These tests, to a limited extent, were also intended to be used to study the influence of parameters, such as edge trusses, on the behaviour of these vaults. A comparison of theoretical results with the experimental values shows that the behaviour of these structures could be determined to within 10% accuracy using the computer programs developed. It has also been found that the provision of edge truss improves the behaviour of these structures.
