The nonlinear behaviour and stiffness characteristics of a hyperbolic paraboloid network, subjected to symmetric and asymmetric loads, are studied. The method of analysis used is based on an Eulerian formulation which accounts for arbitrarily large joint deformations. The effects of inelastic material properties and slackening of members are included in the analysis. The slackening behaviour of the network is examined, and the influence of symmetric and asymmetric load ratios on the deformational response of the structure is investigated.
