The edge cable configurations for tent structures in the prestressed state are analyzed. We show that these configurations identify with the characteristic lines associated with differential equation of the membrane equilibrium written in terms of the stress function. Moreover, existence and uniqueness for the equilibrium problem of membrane are proved in a special case.
