A method is presented for the solution of an orthotropic problem using folded plate theory. The method is suitable for a static solution of space structures containing elements braced by transverse stiffeners, for a static solution of shear wall systems braced horizontally by floor slabs, etc. The derived stiffness matrix for an orthotropic element can be introduced into existing folded plate computer programs with only minor adjustments.
