Abstract
Lister Vickery is an affiliate professor at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. Every two years the FNEGE (the French National Foundation for Management Education) organises a research conference. The conference, held in Grenoble in December, 1994, concentrated on the themes of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. One of the six commissions was dedicated to research in entrepreneurship and new business creation and a discussion document was prepared on the current status and future prospects of research in this area. This paper is derived extensively from that discussion document in order to illustrate the research orientations adopted by French academics and their views on desirable further research. The author's thanks are due to the following specialists who contributed to the original report and helped in compiling the selected bibliography: J-L. Bourgogne (Ecole Centrale), C. Bruyat (IAE, Grenoble), A. Cibert (CRIPEME), J-P Clement (CESA-CFC), G. Koenig (Dauphine), L. Kombou (IAE Bordeaux), H. le Marois (IPA, Lille), and P. Senicourt (ESCP).
