The following is an account of a case study involving a group of Year 8
pupils, all of whom presented with specific language and literacy
difficulties. Phonological awareness and reading skills were taught by
two teachers and a speech and language therapist working together. The
pupils were assessed at the beginning and end of the project, and their
progress is discussed. The development of one of the assessment tools
employed is also described.
