Abstract
Over the past ten years far reaching changes have taken place in the organisation and delivery of educational provision for visually impaired children. There has also been a substantial increase in the availability of teacher training opportunities; but can the present training system meet the demands that are being made? This article looks at current teacher training arrangements, at the changes which have taken place in educational provision, and at the ability of the present system to respond to new demands.
