On being a whole body seer: an epistemic condition for the education of the blind

Abstract

This article is based on an address given in Hereford Cathedral on 25 March 1990, when materials from the project 'Cathedrals Through Touch and Hearing' were dedicated. It explores the ways of knowing of the blind and the sighted person and determines what separates and what unites them.
