Abstract
The author has worked with deaf-blind people for many years. From 1952 until 1980 she was the teacher in charge of the deaf-blind unit at Condover Hall School for Blind Children with Other Handicaps. In 1980 she was appointed by the RNIB as one of their team of Education Advisors to work with those children who had hearing impairment in addition to visual handicap. Almost at the same time she was asked to take the post of RNIB Services Officer for Deaf-Blind Adults. These two jobs covered the UK and any requests from the Republic of Ireland. Last Summer she retired from both posts, but may still be consulted or asked to speak about matters concerning this most diverse collection of people.
