The Tactile Diagrams Research Project, based in the Department o f Education at the Loughborough University o f Technology and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (project number C0023 2210), is concerned with developing tactile diagrams of good quality for school biology courses, and evaluating these in a variety of teaching circumstances. The first year of the research has been mainly concerned with the years of secondary education leading to O Level and CSE exams in biology and human biology.
