Abstract
In this article the symptoms of RP are described and the problems associated with the disease are discussed. Of these problems, attitudes are identified as a particularly important factor. The attitude of the patient and family members can have a major influence on the handicapping effect of the condition. For young adults, the attitude o f workmates may discourage discussion of the problems associated with RP but, it is argued, this is an important way of helping the sufferer hold his job successfully.
