Geoffrey C. Brown, Assistant Warden, and Dr. S. D. Geelan, Senior Registrar in Forensic Psychiatry at Reaside Clinic, describe the operation of Elliot House Probation and Bail Hostel in Birmingham. It is the only hostel in the country geared specifically towards the needs of mentally disordered offenders, and the authors argue that, in partnership with the local forensic psychiatric services, it is helping to break new ground in provision for this client group.
