Abstract
It is now more than a year since the Barclay Report was published. Many people involved in Social Work, have avidly studied and dissected it. "Social Work Today" instantly launched into action with a pre- publication precis of the report,1 and followed it with nine consecutive issues of comment. BASW have organised conferences throughout the country. The Report, after all, marks the first official attempt to re-assess the role and task of social workers, a theme which has pre-occupied students and practitioners for years.
