Abstract
This article formed the substance of an address given by invitation to the Central Council of Probation Committees in November 1978. This invitation in itself was a significant recognition that the Probation Service really must do something to improve its public relations. NAPO has clearly led the way-and Bill Weston urges the Service to follow in a determined fashion.
