Abstract
Ensuring psychological safety for practitioners is key for enabling them to support minoritised groups such as trans people. Practitioners must be able to ask questions and learn from mistakes. Factors influencing psychological safety for criminal justice workers are discussed using examples from research exploring the experiences of trans people in community justice settings and the people that work with them. Findings included how staff developed their knowledge and supported trans people and how staff sought support on both an individual and organisational level. This paper discusses these findings in relation to psychological safety at interpersonal, group and structural levels.
