Abstract

This practice note focuses on the multi-agency work that is being carried out as part of the Prolific and other Priority Offender (PPO) scheme in the London Borough of Southwark. It includes details about the criteria used to refer offenders to the scheme and also highlights the innovative activities being used to encourage PPOs to comply with their orders and licences. The role of the different agencies in working towards reducing re-offending for those PPOs not subject to statutory supervision is also highlighted. Two case studies are used to illustrate the importance of the intensive supervision and increased monitoring of the offenders.
