Abstract
This article discusses the author’s experience as both a community service pathfinder manager and as a research-minded practitioner interested in involving practitioners in the evaluation of their own practice. It describes the setting up of a ‘co-operative enquiry group’ and examines the contribution that it made to the evaluation process, concluding that participatory research can contribute significantly to the data gathered by specialist researchers.
