Abstract

The adsorption kinetics of the decolouration of technical sugar solutions (thin juice) on activated carbon have been investigated in order to construct a kinetic model which describes internal diffusion in adsorbent granules. It was found that the process is best described by a model including both diffusion in the pores and surface diffusion.
