With the theoretical basis stated by Myers & Sircar for formulating a new characteristic equilibrium curve of adsorption on heterogeneous adsorbents, three characteristic curves of adsorption on 5A and 13X zeolites and AC–40 activated carbon have been obtained, showing a correct fit of equilibrium data of different adsorbates at various temperatures. These characteristic curves are useful for the prediction and extrapolation of adsorption isotherms on the same absorbents.
