Abstract
This paper presents the experimental results of studies on the dynamic performance of tractor seats commonly used in India. Vertical transmissibilities of the seats have been studied over a frequency range 2.0-7.5 Hz; with two subjects of different weights, sand dummies and solid dummies of equivalent weight in the seats. The transmissibilities with the subjects and the sand dummies in the seats are somewhat comparable; whereas those with solid dummies and subjects in the seats differ considerably. Most of the seats have been found to have suspension systems with poor isolation characteristics.
