Vibrotactile thresholds have been measured on 15 different test points on the glabrous part of the human hand within the frequency range of 25–1000 Hz. The experiments were carried out on three male and three female subjects, aged between 30 to 39 years.
For all points tested typical U-shaped threshold graphs were obtained. The lowest thresholds, approximately 115 dB (re. 1 nm/s) were measured in the region of 250–300 Hz. Only small differences in sensitivity were seen between points tested.
