Abstract
The physical properties of expanded rubbers made from natural rubber, ENR-25, ENR-50 and blends of the latter with PVC are compared. The effects of plasticisers are also investigated. Materials with densities between 0.15-0.5 Mg/m3 were obtained, all with very fine closed cell structures. The resilience of these materials could readily be varied. Foams made from ENR-50 and blends with PVC possessed very low compression set. All materials possessed low water adsorption.
