This 2 day Conference was held in the Hotel Metropole Brussels and provided a useful follow up to the one-day Seminar held in April 1988 at Queen Mary College, London(1). Delegates from 10 European countries and the USA attended and 14 speakers from Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA gave papers. The authors were from fire research and testing institutes, PU foam and fabric industries, fire authorities and legislators.
