Abstract
A detailed description of the preparation of a casting type foam based on phenolic and urea-formaldehyde resin mixtures is presented. The option of an optimal content of urea-formaldehyde resin as well as optimal processing parameters are outlined. Foam with maximum apparent density and minimum shrinkage is formulated. Pouring technique and the process of application of foam insulation to metal pipes are described. Practical recommendations for the production of foam insulation are given.
