Abstract
During a special research programme at FIW in Munich the change in thermal conductivity over time (ageing) of Polyurethane rigid foam boards was studied . PUR boards with flexible diffusion open facings, such as paper and glass fleece, and blown with pentane or with HCFC 14 lb, were examined.
The natural ageing at 23°C over 5 years was compared with the ageing over 25 or 39 weeks at 70°C.
In summary, it was observed that the 70°C storage for 25 or 39 weeks represents a lower rate of accelerated ageing of thermal conductivity than 5 years storage at 23°C; an even lower increase was measured between weeks 25 and 39.
