BR/HSR blend based microcellular (MC) sheets were developed. Suitable blend ratio for the preparation of light weight MC soles was determined and the technical properties of BR/HSR blend based MC sheets were studied. BR/HSR blend based MC sheet shows good abrasion and flex resistance, low shrinkage and water absorption. The cell structure of the 70/30 and 80/20 BR/HSR blend based MC sheet was studied. As the BR content increases the cell structure becomes more fine and uniform.
