The Learning Activity Mentor Programme (LAMP) is a means by which schools can draw on both materials and mentors to provide enrichment activities for very able pupils. The paper describes how LAMP was established in Christchurch (New Zealand) and the problems and pitfalls are sensitively identified with guidelines suggested for educators intending to establish a similar provision.
