Abstract
For a number of years J. D. Eccles, General Inspector, English and Drama, has organised courses for ‘Gifted Young Writers’ in Surrey schools for both Primary and Secondary school children as well as County Creative Writing Awards for Short Story and Poetry Writing for students between the ages of 13 and 17. This paper outlines the organization and discusses the value of such courses.
