Abstract
Part 1
Part 1 (Volume 1 No 2, 1983) examined the major issues which underlie curriculum extension for exceptionally able pupils. While it is necessary to be concerned with appropriate methods, content and education processes for all
children, exceptionally able children require a different pace, depth and breadth of learning experience.
Part 2
Part 2 constitutes the present paper and examines the principles which should govern the preparation of curriculum extension materials and discusses various strategies of school organisation which allow curriculum extension to take place.
Part 3
Part 3 gives practical examples of curriculum extension activities at infant, junior and secondary levels.
