Abstract
The National Association for Gifted Children has published a study of Initial and In-service Teacher Training in England, Scotland and Wales, in their special area, during the Academic Year 1981–82. Entitled “Teaching Able and Gifted Children”, the study was compiled by Frank Sherwood, the Association's Education Officer.
Questionnaires were sent to all Colleges and University Departments of Education and to Local Education Authorities, asking them for the principles they followed in this aspect of training and for details of resources and courses provided. Broad conclusions from the response, by more than half of the Colleges and Authorities, are drawn by Mr. Sherwood.
